Charity challenge completed to a tee
Decorative Door Products (DDP) by RegaLead and its Team Marvellous teammates have returned triumphant from their first big challenge in aid of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. This saw them attempt 81 holes of golf across five countries in just 36 hours, travelling across England, North Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Republic to complete the challenge within the time.
Special mentions go to RegaLead’s own Paul Buckley, who won Longest Drive on Day one, to KLG’s Trevor Greenfield for winning the Nearest to Pin trophy on Day one, and Chris Kemp from Inagas who was Nearest to Pin on Day two. Big congratulations to the overall winners Masterglass GB’s Mark Bowskill and CENSolutions’ Wayne Rogerson. Wayne also had the honour of winning Longest Drive on Day two, as well as a new award for 2014, the Andy Jones Bandit Trophy, in honour of one of 2013’s winners who could not attend this year.
Speaking about his winning streak and the event itself, Wayne comments: “The Regalead golf challenge was a great event that was really well organised. It was no mean feat coordinating 14 participants for the tight schedule necessary to complete the five countries in two days golf challenge. Of course the icing on the cake was my own success - as well as being on the winning team I managed to scoop a couple of the individual prizes along the way, including longest drive. But as much as we all had fun at the event, we were all particularly thrilled to help raise money for the very worthy cause of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity (RDMCC).”
Guy Hubble, Joint Managing Director at RegaLead explains: “We had a fantastic time taking part in the Five Countries Golf Challenge, despite once again fighting against sunburn in the heat. Well done to all the winners, and huge thanks to everyone who took part and sponsored us. We are more than half way towards our target of £10,000 for this fantastic cause, so please keep your donations coming. The question is now, how to top this challenge next year, so we are looking at attempting 72 holes in two days, Ryder Cup style. Watch this space.”
